Certified Veterinary Technician - Several
Positions Available
An ideal candidates should be caring and patient with
animals, have excellent communication skill. Must be dependable, efficient,
organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must
possess a strong work ethic, initiative and follow
through.
Tasks
 | Take and process radiographs |
 | Relay messages/lab results to client as instructed by
veterinarian |
 | Administer anesthesia to animals, under the direction
of a veterinarian, and monitor animals' responses to anesthetics so that
dosages can be adjusted. |
 | Care for and monitor the condition of animals
recovering from surgery. |
 | Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums,
and treatments, as prescribed by veterinarians. |
 | Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces,
such as urinalyses and blood counts, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment
of animal health problems. |
 | Administer emergency first aid, such as performing
emergency resuscitation or other life saving procedures. |
 | Collect, prepare, and label samples for laboratory
testing, culture, or microscopic examination. |
 | Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and
materials. |
 | Provide veterinarians with the correct equipment and
instruments, as needed. |
 | Fill prescriptions, measuring medications and labeling
containers. |
 | Prepare animals for surgery, performing such tasks as
shaving surgical areas. |
KENNEL
ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION - Several Positions Available (a.m., p.m.,
and Weekend Shifts)
Veterinary kennel
assistants are responsible for the day-to-day care of patients and boarders.
This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the
well being of dogs, cats and, occasionally, other companion animals. Kennel
assistants must have sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift
and/or move heavy pets and objects, the dexterity and confidence to administer
medications, and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease.
It is essential that they have the ability and willingness to learn and the
desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for boarded and hospitalized pets.
Kennel experience is not always a prerequisite for this position.
